• Seyyed led a discussion on solar irradiance, zenith angle, and solar power.
• Discuss about normalizing with respect to zenith angle. By dividing solar irradiance by the cos(zenith angle), the solar irradiance is projected perpendicular to the earth surface. By using the this normalization, all seasonal and day time effects are accounted for. However, this normalization does not account for clouds blocking the sun.
• Talked about normalizing by subtracting by the meaning and then dividing by the variance.
