Mentorship Plan - Spring 2016

This page consists of a list of mentors for this semester, and a plan for both alumni and current students to contribute to the lab through mentorship. This mentorship plan was designed to be flexible so alumni and current students can volunteer as many or few hours as they can or would like to contribute and so the location of the mentor is not an issue. It is also designed to be an easy way for alumni especially to be able to give back to the lab.

Students to mentor
- 496 and 499 students in the lab
- 196, 296, and 396 students after they have seen a non-alumni mentor and are still stuck
  - If this occurs, non-alumni mentor should also notify alumni mentor of what research and suggestions have already been done
Mentorship schedule
- Alumni can skype into meetings during times they said they were available
- Assign them to teams who are working on projects within their specialty
- Alumni can communicate by email, Discourse, and Slack

- Weekly meetings with team they are in charge of
- Assign them to teams who are working on projects within their specialty
- Will attempt to schedule mentorship times near or during their lab hours
- Can also communicate by email, Discourse, and Slack
Responsibilities:
- Tracking progress of 196/296 students on Excel spreadsheet
- Making sure all students on team have read emails
