Your Interests

It's important to define your interests and goals early on so that you can figure out if that's actually what you want to do. Otherwise, you might end up realizing later on that what you've spent so much time on is not what you want to work on. The sooner you figure out where you don't want to be, the sooner you can figure out where you do want to be.

What do you want to learn? What kind of skills do you want to develop? What kind of job do you want?

The answers to these questions might change as you go through your academic and professional careers so it's important to explore these questions early on and revisit them often.

Assignments

Responses for this don't have to be super long and detailed but be concise and honest when you answer them.

  1. Write a brief reflection on the video - was it interesting? What was interesting? Do you disagree with any of his point? How does it relate to where you are right now?
  2. Make a list of skills you want to develop in the next semester.
  3. Make a list of companies that you would want to work for.
  4. Make a list of careers you would like.
