Week 13 - April 17, 2017
Attended: Kaeo, Tryston, Michael
Updates
- Started working with the ATmega1284p
- Tryston did some research and found that the pins of the DIP package and the TQFN package are slightly different
- Started using the AVR Dragon programmer that Kenny had bought last semester
- It can be used to program some of the ATmega devices
- Trying to get it to work with the our ATmega in SPI programming mode
- Need to burn the bootloader to how we plan to use the ATmega (Voltage at a certain clockspeed)
- We're thinking of 3.3V at 8MHz, right now but we found that we can use 3.3V at 16MHz if we want to
- Hooked up the AVR Dragon to work in SPI mode and downloaded the Atmel Studio software
- Haven't learned how to use it yet
- This is the first step to having it being programmed onboard - SPI supports onboard programming
