Blueberry Design Meeting- August 28, 2014

  • Low battery life: 3.7 V 6600 mAh
  • No On/Off button and hard to access to turn off box
  • Difficult to debug
    • No LEDs
    • No serial output
    • Hard to program
    • Disassemble
  • Assembly
    • Too much hot glue
    • Housing design

    • Use 3D printer to print what we want
    • Reinforce 3D printed housing with fiber glass
    • Pipe idea
      • Would need a big PVC pipe for outdoors
      • Have divider for sensors
        • One side for sensors
        • Other side for main board, XBEE, and battery
        • Have bus to connect two sides
  • Breakout board
    • Put LEDs and ports (UART, ground, power)
      • TX
      • RX
      • Ground
      • 3.3V
      • Reset button- soft
      • SPI- program
    • Can unplug board when done testing, debugging, and programming
  • Problem with SD card
  • Single board
    • Charging chip, main processor, XBEE on same board
  • Single chip- QFN
  • No SD card
  • Battery more than double
  • Solar panel upgrade
  • Wireless programming
  • Lowering clock to 8 MHz
