How to Use the SCEL Dropbox
Guidelines and Etiquette
- When uploading a file that may see several revisions, append the file name with “R”, followed by the number of the revision and your initials. The following is an appropriate example of a file with several revisions:
FundingProposalR0ZD FundingProposalR1CO FundingProposalR2ZD
- Include a date in the name of a file or folder wherever necessary. The following are appropriate examples:
2014 Fall Christie & Ryan (396) 2014 Spring CoE Banquet
- Do not upload files without context. Make sure that the purpose of the file is clear. This can be done by either including documentation in the file or in a README, or by naming the parent folder/file in a way that indicates the importance of that file.
Dropbox Structure
- The following describes the folder structure of the Dropbox.
- Each directory may have appropriately named sub-directories.
- For example, “General > Papers & Presentations” has an sub-directory called “x96”, where groups may upload their x96 material.
