Mentorship Meeting - February 4, 2016
Attended:
Third Week Tasks
- Arduino tutorials
- Make Gantt chart
- Prepare for Proposal Presentations
Fourth Week (Next Week) Tasks
- Make sure Github tutorials are finished and Arduino tutorials are finished
- Note on bare Arduino tutorials
- Do not have voltage regulators, 16MHz Crystals
- Have students build the tutorials and leave spaces for the voltage regs while we buy parts
- Students should be following their schedules
- Usual: progress, accomplishments, issues, goals for next week
Progress Sheet
- Update progress sheet by Fridays at 11:59 pm
Presentations
- Proposal presentation on February 6 in iLab from 9-11 am with lunch after
- 196, 296 students will have 6 minutes maximum to present
- Content for their presentations is on the wiki
- Would be good to check content of presentations
Fablab Access
- Zach is the main contact for this
- Will have lab code
- Will be trained on how to use equipment
- Others will then need approval from him after learning to use the equipment
Reminders
- Encouragement is good as well as constructive criticism
- But push your students to continue to work hard
- Do NOT let them think they are ahead and that they can take a break
- Problems may come up down the road as well as studying for midterms that may push them back
- Feedback is good
- Would like feedback from mentors on how it is going
- Constructive feedback only helps us to improve our current process
- Would like feedback from teams on how it is going
- Important in adjusting the project to suit their needs
