This is more of a testing improvement more than anything else right now. Currently, roof access is very difficult but is our only deployment environment right now. I'm proposing that we make sure that sensor nodes can be run off of a local power supply (like from the wall), so they can be tested long term in a lab environment before they are deployed to a roof, where they become pretty in-accessible.

Such a development flow would look something like this:

• Create design
• Get PCB fabbed, populate boards
• Test power system, individual components manually
• Burn bootloader
• Upload firmware
• Test the firmware loads, values look correct so far
• Long term test with staging network - powered off wall
• Short term test with staging network - maybe using a light to try and exercise the solar charging system
• Full deployment into production network
