Meeting Minutes 10/14/15

Attended: Kaeo, Tryston, Jon

  • I2C stuff
  • 0 ohm resistors
  • giant cap on the charging circuit
  • Don't start from scratch with Apple
  • First step would be to clean up
  • The current schematic is crowded
  • Don't use less than 10 millimeters in the traces
  • Jon's rules use groups
    • Group 1 - POWER
    • Group 2 - IC SENSORS
  • Stay away from large traces that go across the entire page
    • Use the label tool instead.
  • Don't use the ticket labels for power
    • Use the arrows instead.
  • Clean up the current schematic and make it easier to follow the traces
  • Make sure the schematic is SECTIONED APPROPRIATELY (have clear things)
  • Make sure the schematic includes TECHNICAL DETAILS (NAME AND VALUE) (ratings and tolerances on the schematic)
  • The 0 ohm resistor is a JUMPER used for getting faster (data? still not sure.)

Maybe break things up to:
1. Schematic (EagleCAD) [electrical aspects]
2. Assembly (parts and assembly) [in between both mechanical and electrical aspects]
3. Housing (the box and stuff) [mechanical aspects]

  • Bill of material to start things off.
  • Thru holes devices are bigger. Surface mounts devices are smaller.
    • On a professional level reducing space cuts costs as well.
  • Need to watch the plugged in programming (debugging).
  • Layout do it on the prof license. The schematic can be done on the free version.
  • Make sure you have the things linked (make sure to keep the things updated)
  • Parts lists of the housing stuff including the misc electrical items like the headers
  • Presentation is coming up soon.
  • Gotta work on the Powerpoint.
