Dragonfruit Team Meeting #24 - April 18, 2016
Attended: Brian, Garrett, Kyle, Brianne, Keane, Kevin
Updates
- Did greetings and introductions.
- Gave out assignments for the x296 and x196 students to work on.
Problems
- N/A
Goals for this week
- Research Charging Chip, Micro-controller, Board designs, and to look at Sketch-Up.
- Charging Chip: Read data-sheets. Get a firm understanding.
- Research other charging chips to improve board efficiency and so that it's easier to solder.
- Current charging chip is limited to 3.3V other charging chips can handle higher voltages.
- Instead of using voltage regulators and boost converters, use step up and step down (which can be done with one chip.)
- Check Pololu on their page. Pololu is a QFN and someone needs to learn how to solder it.
- Micro-Controller: Research for other options.
- Research for a microcontroller with more input and output ports.
- Current microcontroller is a 328p, use micro controller from same family. This will make it easier for firmware to adapt.
- Board: Expand on the board. (Possibly change the size and design.)
- Sketch Up: Download and play around with it. Get some experience with the software.
- Extra Information: Differences between Dragon Fruit and Cranberry.
- Dragon Fruit runs on 5V while Cranberry runs on 3.3V.
- Dragon Fruit runs off of a 16Mhz Clock.
- Cranberry runs off of a 8Mhz Clock.
- Look over datasheets to see why this happens.
