• Problems
  • (1) Was unable to openthe serial port to program
  • (2) Ableto open the port but FTDI programmer was not responding
• Solutions
  • (1) Switched out faulty FTDI board
  • (2) Realized that reset button has to be pressed after com port is opened
• Improvements
  • (1) Got rid of the rest switch on the breadboard
  • (2) Tied the FTDI rts port to 10 uF cap in series to the mcu reset pin
• Other notes
  • Enable verbose on Arduino IDE while uploading
