Introductory Questions

Q1: What is a microgrid?

A1: Basically a central electricity system at a very small scale (hence 'micro'). The goal of a microgrid is to achieve greater reliability, reduce carbon emission and cost.

Q2: In reference to renewable energy sources, why is there concern about the stability of the grid?

A2: PV energy production is unreliable due to various reasons, one being weather patterns.

Q3: Why create a self sufficient sensor network?

A3: By creating a self sufficient sensor network you are forming methods to track weather conditions and predict future weather patterns.

Q4: What database does the current weatherbox use?

A4: Relational Database (PostgreSQL).

Q5: What transceiver does the current weatherbox use?

A5:XBee
