Meeting Minutes April 16, 2018
Attended: Alex(s), Kayla
Updates
- Deployed at Andrew's house
- Boards worked well inside, but Bumblebee failed outside
- Box started to whine and stopped transmitting when solar panel created a spike in voltage
- Possible cause: single voltage regulator on PCB is not enough to handle power provided by the panel
To Do
- Figure out why the board doesn't respond well to power from the solar panel
- Measure current/voltages to and from the panel with the battery and simulated sunlight
- Possibly deploy second board
Meeting Minutes April 20, 2018
Attended: Alex(s), Kayla, Becky
Updates
- Tested Bumblebee with solar light in the lab
- Determined that the buzzing from the board is due to the voltage regulator
- Removed 3.3V regulator from board and soldered wires to the pads on the board
