Guava - January 30, 2017

Attended: Tryston, Kaeo, Michael

  • Started the proposal slides
  • Doing research on the differences and similarities between the new chip and the old chip
    • Expand on the successes and try to correct the “missteps” of the Dragon Fruit
      • Chose Dragon Fruit because of the 5V
  • Thinking of that subgoal of demand response
    • Thinking of alternate uses of Guava such as an indoor sensor as well.
    • Maybe try to let it be used both inside and outside.
  • Created Gantt chart for the semester
"Projected" Goals
  • Deployment might not be the end goal
  • Maybe a proof of concept to test the capabilities of the processor with its functionality

Design Choices of The Week

  • Initially going with a 5V volts option over the 3V because of the use of the breakout sensors/parts
    • Research more of the pros and cons of using the 3V and 5V
    • Might incorporate a 3V and 5V design that works in tandem with each other
  • Implementation of different types of sensors not necessarily weather sensors, but something else
  • Going to keep the charging chip how it is. (SMD parts including breaking the big cap into smaller caps in parallel)
  • Need Gantt Chart of Schedule before next week Thursday
  • Need to figure out the roles/duties
  • Figure out end goals for this project
  • Proposal Presentations on Saturday, February 11th @ 9:00 AM @ iLab
