Wind Sensor

The objective of the wind sensor project is to design a small, static, and inexpensive system that can:

  1. Accurately measure wind speed and direction in real time
  2. Potentially be integrated into the weatherboxes

The motivation behind the project is to be able to measure wind patterns and utilize that information to design greener buildings that take advantage of the wind's natural ventilation.

Team Melon

Overview

We are the new Wind Sensor team, Team Melon!

As of Spring 2018, there are two different implementations of the wind sensor being developed: acoustic and ultrasonic.

TODO:

  1. Create two separate pages for acoustic & ultrasonic implementations (each has their own block diagram and how it works)
  2. Add how the acoustic method works and how the utlrasonic one works (including pictures)
  3. Talk about what kind of work we do (embedded: MCU programming & interfacing w/ hardware)
  4. Some of the applications
